DEFENSIVE stocks offer a relatively safe haven for investors still bold enough to jump into the market despite the current jitters and a potentially turbulent ride.

Investors could consider switching their portfolios from recently battered financial and property stocks to these less vulnerable counters.

Stocks generally regarded as defensive include telecom counters such as SingTel, as well as Singapore Press Holdings, SingPost and transport stocks such as SMRT and Comfort DelGro.
