Nikkei opens lower

>TOKYO - JAPAN'S Nikkei stock average fell 1.1 per cent on Monday as exporters like Canon Inc weighed on the market, with worries about the global economy and the US financial bailout also dragging it down.

The benchmark Nikkei shed 120.87 points to 10,817.27, while the broader Topix was down 1.1 per cent at 1,036.80.
