STI up 1.95% at midday

SINGAPORE shares ended the morning session high with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 38.01 points, or 1.95 per cent, at 1,986.34.

Up to 691.4 million shares exchanged hands.

Losers beat gainers 281 to 155.
