>TAIPEI - Taiwan stocks tumbled 4.65 percent to a fresh five-year closing low on Monday, after the Taiwan government ended a temporary rule that halved the daily downside limit to 3.5 percent.

The main TAIEX share index closed 212.75 points lower at 4,366.87, paring earlier losses of up to 6 percent as investors rushed to play catch-up with other global markets that had previously seen more drastic losses.
