HONG KONG - GERMAN airport operator Fraport and Singapore's Changi Airport were among those shortlisted to invest in a new airport project in China's Kunming, the South China Morning Post reported on Monday.

A fund run by Australia's Macquarie was also shortlisted for the project, the newspaper said, citing market sources. The investors may pay as much as US$900 million (S$1.3 billion) for a stake in the planned airport project southwest of China, the report said.

The interested investors may also be allowed to take a stake in the company that will operate the airport, it said.
