STI up 4.84 per cent at midday

SINGAPORE shares ended the morning session higher with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 86.76 points, or 4.84 per cent, at 1,880.96.

Around 910.3 million shares exchanged hands.

Gainers beat losers 359 to 89.
