>LONDON - EUROPE'S main stock markets dropped when trading began on Tuesday, with London's FTSE 100 index of top equities losing 0.98 per cent to stand at 4,360.91 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 shed 0.82 per cent to 4,984.32 points and in Paris the CAC 40 slid by 1.49 per cent in value to 3,453.65.
