STI 1.33% higher by midday

SINGAPORE shares ended the morning session higher with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 21.90 points, or 1.33 per cent, at 1,665.58.

Up to 418 million shares exchanged hands.

Gainers beat losers 146 to 139.
