GENEVA, June 14, 2009 (AFP) - Swiss aviation maintenance firm SR Technics is to cut between 200 and 300 jobs by the end of the year as a result of the downturn in the industry, Swiss agency ATS reported Sunday.
The company, a former subsidiary of now-defunct Swissair, also plans to cut 90 jobs from a 750-strong workforce at Stansted, near London, the agency reported.
SR Technics, which currently employs 3,000 people in all, is owned today by Madala Development Company (70 percent) and Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (30 percent).
Already in April the company shut down its site in Dublin, Ireland, with the loss of 1,135 jobs.
