STI higher at midday

SINGAPORE shares were higher at midday on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,285.83, up 0.87 per cent, or 19.74 points.

About 537 million shares exchanged hands.

Gainers beat losers 167 to 110.
