China to cut jet fuel prices

BEIJING (Reuters) - CHINA will cut the price of aviation fuel from Sunday, the National Development and Reform Commission said.

The new prices will come into effect from midnight on Sunday, it said in a brief statement on its website. It did not say by how much prices would be cut.

On Friday, a senior oil industry official told Reuters that China's aviation fuel market is likely to grow at 7-8 per cent next year, quickening from this year but off a heady double-digit pace in the previous few years as global trade slows.

Jet fuel makes up only 4 per cent of China's total fuel market, the world's second-largest after the US.
