TOKYO - Tokyo share prices closed down 1.01 percent on Tuesday, dragged by deflation concerns that have clouded recovery prospects in Asia's number one economy.

The benchmark Nikkei-225 index lost 96.10 points to 9,401.58 and the broader Topix index of all first-section shares declined 9.49 point, or 1.13 percent, to 829.22.
