STI opens higher

SINGAPORE shares opened higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 10.78 points, or 0.39 per cent, at 2,790.76.

About 116 million shares were traded in the opening minutes.

Gainers beat losers 79 to 41.
