Japanese shares open lower, Seoul shares open flat

TOKYO, Oct 28, 2010 (AFP) - Japanese shares opened lower Thursday, with the Tokyo Stock Exchange's Nikkei index easing 18.42 points, or 0.25 percent, to 9,368.61 in the first minutes of trading.

Seoul shares open flat; Hynix gains after results

SEOUL, Oct 28 (Reuters) - Seoul shares opened flat on Thursday as investors scaled back their expectations of how aggressively the U.S. Federal Reserve will engage in its next round of quantitative easing and amid caution ahead of earnings season here.

But shares in Hynix Semiconductor were up 1.5 percent after reporting a strong set of third quarter results before market's open on Thursday.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index was up 0.07 percent at 1,910.89 points as of 0002 GMT.
