Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH) online portals are the preferred digital media platforms of marketing professionals in Singapore, according to the latest results from the Digital Media of the Year Awards by Marketing Magazine.
11 SPH websites won top placings in various categories in the awards.
Under the news category, AsiaOne emerged as the top digital news portal, followed by Channel NewsAsia in second place, and SPH's The Straits Times in third.
Aside from being an informative portal, AsiaOne offers online advertising and interactive marketing opportunities such as advertising, mobile advertising, electronic direct mailer, viral marketing gateway and sponsorships.
It is no wonder, SPH's leading news and information portal is a top choice among advertisers.
Other SPH websites that did well are The Business Times (1st, Business and Finance), ST701 (1st, Recruitment), The Peak (1st, Luxury), Luxury Insider (3rd, Luxury), HardwareZone.com (1st, Tech), Men's Health (1st, Men), Her World (Women, 2nd), SilverKris (2nd, Travel), and Torque (Joint 2nd, Specialist Car).
Willy Tan, SPH's Head, Interactive Business Unit said: "It's great that the industry has ranked AsiaOne, The Straits Times, & The Business Times as class leading sites in Marketing's Digital Media of 2011. I think in digital marketing, trust is a key element and this shows the confidence that advertisers have in our sites delivering quality content to an engaged audience.
"I also hope a part of this reflects our credo - Always A Solution - working closely with our advertisers and agency partners to understand their business and digital marketing needs."
"Considering the quality content that the AsiaOne team puts out, the site will naturally attract the type of readers which marketers want to get in touch with," says AsiaOne editor Adrian Tay.
"It's great to be ranked on top, but that doesn't mean we'll stop innovating, already our iPhone app is reaching another breed of readers and these would come in handy as another platform for advertisers to tap on."
The Digital Media Rankings were derived from the results of an online questionnaire in Boardroom Research's annual Digital Media Rankings Survey.
A total of 603 respondents, including client advertisers from different industries and agencies, participated in the survey. The respondents included CEOs, managing directors, general managers, vice-presidents or director level marketers.
There were a total of 16 categories in the survey. These included social media, lifestyle, business and finance, and travel. The other top sites include Facebook (social media), Google (search), BBC (international news and current affairs), The Financial Times (international business and finance), and Google Ad Network (ad networks).
