Winners of Singapore Blog Awards 2012 revealed

Known online as Dr. Jiajia, seven-year-old Chua Jin Sen has entertained many with his Singlish videos on YouTube. His videos have also won the hearts of the Singapore Blog Awards judges and voters, and he was announced as the winner in the Best V-log category of Singapore Blog Awards 2012.

The Singapore Blog Awards celebrated its fifth-year milestone with a "heroic" award ceremony held at Singapore Food Trail at Singapore Flyer on 21 July 2012, where guests were invited to show up dressed as superheroes in line with this year's "Super Bloggers, Attack!" theme.

This year's blog awards also saw veteran bloggers such as Jerome Lim, who is the winner for Best Photography Blog for the second year running, as well as Valyn Lim and Zhou Yiwei who bagged the Best Fashion Blog award and Best Food Blog award respectively both last year and this.

The ten winning bloggers received their prizes from Mr Heng Swee Keat, Minister for Education, who was the Guest-of-Honour. Among the prizes was a trophy designed by Singapore Cultural Medallion multi-disciplinary artist Mr. Tan Swie Hian, as well as a trip to experience the annual International Fireworks Festival in Macau.

In line with the fifth anniversary of the Singapore Blog Awards, omy.sg also acknowledged five "Super Bloggers" who have enriched the blogosphere with quality content over the last five years.

For the first time, the Singapore Blog Awards also hosted 16 overseas bloggers from Malaysia, The Philippines and Hong Kong, who came to town specially for the event.

The presenting sponsor for Singapore Blog Awards 2012 was Panasonic. Main sponsors included Casio Sheen, Macau Government Tourist Office, Domino's Pizza, Qoo10 (new Gmarket), Mary Chia, SOLD.SG, Singapore Flyer, ST701. Other sponsors included Golden Village, Far East Hospitality Hotels & Residences, Singapore Food Trail. Publicity partners were Stomp, Ping.sg and Youth.sg.

The Singapore Blog Awards is part of a series of events branded under Social Media Fiesta (http://project.omy.sg/social-media-fiesta), an omy.sg social media initiative. The Singapore Blog Awards ceremony on 21 July also wraps up the 3-month long Social Media Fiesta 2012 celebrations.
