SINGAPORE - Groupon Singapore has launched its first retail concept store in Suntec City - the first of its kind worldwide.
Singapore is the testing bed for this new initiative, according to the company, and the concept may be extended to other markets if successful.
Its outfit at Suntec City Mall, which opened on July 4, boasts a space of 4,400 square feet.
Customers can pick up their products purchased from the Groupon website, and also browse, purchase, print and redeem their coupons on the spot through iPads set up in the shop.
Chief Operating Officer Mr Adrian Tan explained that the aim of the Groupon Shop was to deliver better service and interaction with customers when shopping for deals and to make shopping an enjoyable experience for everyone.
"Although many Singaporeans today like to easily go online to purchase deals, many still prefer the face-to-face interaction and the fact that an online shop like Groupon has a physical presence," said Mr Tan.
The Groupon Shop will have more than 50 customer service staff or "ambassadors", to help shoppers with their purchases.
The Groupon Shop is located at Suntec City Tower 3, #03-27 G-L (Cinema Level) and is open from 11am to 8pm.
