Britney's custody rights temporarily suspended after defying court order
Fri, Nov 02, 2007
LOS ANGELES - NEWLY released court papers confirm that Britney Spears had to temporarily surrender custody of her sons to ex-husband Kevin Federline because she defied a court order.

The documents released Thursday show a Los Angeles court commissioner ordered Spears and Federline not to drive with their children unless the couple had proper insurance and a valid state driver's license.

The pop star disobeyed the order when she was photographed driving 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James a few days after the Sept 28 order.

At the time, Spears did not have a California license.

After she was forced to hand the children over to Federline, Spears applied for a California license. -- AP
