The end of ZoukOut in S'pore?

ZOUKOUT is back for the seventh time. Singapore's biggest club bash is taking place on Saturday night at Sentosa, capping a bumper year of quality music festivals like Mosaic, SingGest and Womad, which have seen healthy attendances, with more foreigners turning up.

But there will also be a note of sadness - this may be ZoukOut's swansong at a seafront venue.

The organiser, Singapore nightclub Zouk, is looking at new venues because an upcoming water park is set to reduce the space available on Siloso.

And it hasn't ruled out taking the extravaganza off Singapore's shores altogether, to somewhere else in the region.

Industry players and organisers say one challenge lies in the relatively small catchment here for such fests.
