Is this how we party?

More than 20,000 revellers descended on Siloso Beach in Sentosa on Saturday for the ZoukOut dance festival.

While the majority kept themselves going through the music marathon from dusk till dawn, there were those whose bodies were soon on a different planet.

According to The New Paper, by 2am, one by one they dropped out, succumbing to thirst, exhaustion, excess booze or the lure of the flesh.

Among those spotted by our photographers was a Caucasian man motionless on top of his partner on the ground, too smashed to move (see main picture above).

There was also a couple that seemed to be getting amorous on the sand, and they were not the only couple seen making out that night.

In dark secluded spaces behind tents and fences away from the dancing crowd, couples started doing things you don't want your children to see, said The New Paper report.

Business undergrad Robert, 23, told AsiaOne "There was a girl performing oral sex on a guy behind the portable toilets. When security came and escorted the couple out of Zoukout, it was almost day break"

But did the partygoers care?

British tourist James Evans, 28, told The New Paper, "It's completely let loose here. This is one of the best parties I've been to."

German journalist Florian Lutz said, "We live it here. It's my third time here. Singapore is really the best place to be."

And after the music has stopped and the dust settled, is it still the best place to be?

Well, not when you are in the path of drunken people throwing up or when the beach is littered with plastic cups, drink bottles and food wrappers.

A Straits Times report said that an army of about 80 cleaners got down and dirty at the beach at 7am in the morning after the massive 12-hour party of the year.

"We are still not done yet," a Sentosa spokesman told The Straits Times in the afternoon. They had already trucked off 12 loads of garbage by then.

'There was more rubbish than last year,' said the Sentosa spokesman.
