SYDNEY - AUSTRALIAN actress Toni Collette has given birth to a girl in Sydney, a spokeswoman said on Friday.
The star of 'Little Miss Sunshine' and her musician husband David Galafassi welcomed Sage Florence Galafassi into the world on Wednesday, she said.
'Both mother and baby are very well and very happy,' the spokesman said.
It is the first child for Collette, 35, who first became internationally known for the 1994 Australian comedy 'Muriel's Wedding'.
She has since appeared in a string of films, including 'The Sixth Sense' for which she was nominated for the best supporting actress Oscar in 1996.
In an interview in July, Collette confirmed that she was expecting, saying her pregnancy was 'a case of life imitating art'.
'It is strange the last three films I've done I have been pregnant,' she said.'
