Golden Village's MD Kenneth Tan to quit company
Tue, Jan 15, 2008
The Straits Times

Golden Village's managing director Kenneth Tan is leaving the company. His last day is Friday.

The 42-year-old will set up his own company, Bridge Builders, which will provide management consultancy, training as well as communications and marketing.

Australian David Glass, who set up GV's operations, here in 1992, will take over in the interim while the company launches a search for a successor.

Mr Tan was at the centre of a lawsuit imbroglio between GV's co-owners, Hong Kong's Golden Harvest and Australia's Village Roadshow. The lawsuit, filed in Hong Kong in 2005 by Harvest, sought to dissolve the business partnership. Mr Tan's actions were cited as a main source of unhappiness.

Harvest's then-managing director Phoon Chiong Kit, also sued Mr Tan for defamation in a suit that was settled out of court in January 2007. Mr Phoon was fired by Harvest after the board met on Dec 21 due to differences in management.
