HONG KONG, CHINA – Taiwanese singer Jolin Tsai is not amused by sex talk.
She is suing a Hong Kong magazine over an article alleging she had sex with a fellow pop singer in Hong Kong.
Her lawyers filed a lawsuit against Oriental Sunday after the magazine’s May 24 issue published a story with a photo showing Tsai and singer Edison Chen in a car.
It said the singers, both 25, had sex that “shook the car openly for half an hour”, according to court documents cited by The Standard newspaper.
The document said the story depicted Tsai’s behaviour as “explicit, shocking, indecent, obscene, demeaning and degrading”, leading to “public scandal, embarrassment, odium and contempt”.
Coincidentally, her lawsuit comes just days before she kicks off her world tour in Hong Kong this weekend.
These concerts are handled by a consortium that includes the Emperor Entertainment Group whose parent company, Emperor Group, owns Oriental Sunday.
An Emperor Group spokesman dismissed suggestions that the lawsuit was timed to coincide with her concerts. -AFP
