LOS ANGELES - POP diva Mariah Carey has dethroned Elvis Presley after passing the 'King of Rock 'n' Roll' in total number of chart-toppers with her 18th No. 1, according to Billboard magazine.

Carey's 'Touch My Body' reached first place on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, seeing her move to second in the overall tally of most No. 1 singles, trailing The Beatles in first place, who have 20 chart-toppers.

If Carey enjoys more success with tracks from her yet to be released new album 'E=MC2' she could conceivably pass the Beatles by the end of the year.

Another Elvis milestone was passed this week by Madonna, who earned the 37th top 10 hit of her career with the single '4 Minutes.' Carey, 38, has sold around 160 million albums worldwide during a nearly two-decade long recording career.
