London, Britain - A waxwork model of soul singer Amy Winehouse, replicating her myriad tattoes and beehive hairstyle, will be unveiled in London next month, the general manager of Madame Tussauds museum said on Monday.
The troubled Grammy award-winning singer was back in a London clinic on Monday after briefly leaving to perform at Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday concert in Hyde Park, and at the Glastonbury Festival over the weekend.
Madame Tussauds General Manager Edward Fuller said the museum was 'really pleased to be creating (a statue of) Amy.'
'She is a real icon in modern British music, a continual award winner, and an internationally recognised star widely requested by our guests,' he added.
Winehouse will be joined by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake, in a section of the museum dedicated to music stars set to open at the end of next month.
The 24-year-old, whose battle with drugs and 'exhaustion' has been widely reported in the tabloid press, was taken to hospital last week after fainting at her home.
