TWO upcoming local movies have given an otherworldly spin to the usual promotional stunts.

Writer/director Royston Tan's hotly anticipated 12 Lotus has teaser posters put up in the most unlikely place: Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple Association in Paya Lebar.

Secretary of the temple Tan Thiam Lye explains that the area around the temple was used as a location for the upcoming movie, which prompted the temple to put up its teaser posters as a form of support.

The 58-year-old says: 'Many people come to the temple every day and we hope that they will support the local movie after seeing the teaser posters at our temple.'

The popular Taoist temple has an average of 400 visitors on weekdays and 1,000 on weekends.
