LONDON - British soul singer Amy Winehouse was released from hospital Tuesday after receiving treatment overnight for a reaction to her medication.
"Amy Winehouse was admitted to University College Hospital last night. Our doctors decided to keep her overnight for observation," a spokeswoman for the London hospital said, reading from a statement.
"She had a comfortable night and was discharged today."
The 24-year-old, whose battle against drug addiction has overshadowed her recording successes, was taken to the hospital late Monday after feeling ill at her home in north London.
Last month the Grammy award-winning performer was rushed to a hospital after she fainted at home.
Shortly afterwards, her father said in an interview that she was suffering from the lung condition emphysema and had been warned by doctors that she would die if she continued smoking drugs.
Her representatives played down the severity of the diagnosis, although a spokesman has confirmed that Winehouse had a "touch of" emphysema.
Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil was also jailed recently after pleading guilty to beating up a pub landlord in 2006 and conspiring to cover up the crime.
Fielder-Civil, who married Winehouse in Miami last year, has served around nine months in prison, and is expected to spend another four-and-a-half months behind bars.
Winehouse has referred to Fielder-Civil during several recent stage performances.
