KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: Pink will be the colour of Avril Lavigne's concert here this Friday.
"The whole concert will feature a lot of the colour pink right to her microphone which is encrusted with pink crystals," Galaxy Group managing director Alan Chan said, adding that the show would incorporate the best sound and visual technology.
He told The Star tickets were selling like hot cakes and many international bookings have also been received.
"We anticipate a fantastic show. A rock concert with full emphasis on showmanship," he said, adding that the concert would not be possible without the support from various parties and Avril's fans.
"We are working around the clock to ensure Avril and her fans get the best on show day. This will be one of the biggest concerts to be staged this year," he said.
Avril's concert here will be the first Asian stop in her world tour. After Malaysia, she will perform in South Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, Japan, China and Taiwan.
The tour follows the successful release of the petite rocker's third album The Best Damn Thing released in 2007.
The 23-year-old singer-songwriter known for her 'skater punk' persona will be arriving with some 30 crewmembers that include dancers and musicians.
In tandem with the show, official camera Sony Cyber-Shot has organised a charity drive, which ends tomorrow, to help raise funds for babies born with the Inborn Errors of Metabolism (IEM) disease. The proceeds will be channelled to the Malaysia Metabolic Society.
Donations can be made at the four Sony Style stores located in KLCC, The Curve, Berjaya Times Square, and Tebrau City, Johor.
Avril's concert at Stadium Merdeka will kick off at 8pm.
