LOS ANGELES, Sept 18, 2008 (AFP) - Britain's Keira Knightley has joined the cast of a movie about a married couple, starring with France's Guillaume Canet and US actress Eva Mendes, the industry daily Variety said Thursday.

Filming will start next month in New York on "Last Night," revolving around the couple who have to resist temptation when they are apart for a night due to a business trip.

Knightley, 23, nominated for an Oscar for her 2006 role in "Pride and Prejudice," is also the star of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies with Johnny Depp. She will next be seen on movie screens in "The Duchess."

France's Canet directed the surprise summer US box office hit "Tell No One," which took in five million dollars in 10 weeks.
