OSCAR-WINNING director Sam Mendes will bring a star-studded cast to Singapore for a production of The Winter's Tale.

The Shakespearean play, helmed by the director of critically acclaimed movies such as American Beauty (1999), Road To Perdition (2002) and Jarhead (2005), will run from March 26 to 31 next year at the Esplanade Theatre.

The cast includes American heart-throb Ethan Hawke, best known for his roles in Training Day and Before Sunrise, respected British stage actress Sinead Cusack, who is the wife of actor Jeremy Irons and up-and-coming actress Rebecca Hall, who won rave notices for her performance in Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
