Singapore's leading internet portal, AsiaOne, this evening announced the winners of its inaugural People's Choice Awards, which recognises outstanding achievements and successful branding of products across industries in Asia.
The awards were presented to the winners at a ceremony held at Singapore Press Holdings.
The event's guest of honour, Mr Lawrence Leow, the President of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises, gave out the awards to the Top People's Choice for each category.
The results of the Awards were based entirely on popularity votes across 11 categories decided by a panel from SPH.
Voting commenced in Dec 2008 and over 11,000 votes were cast within two months.
Said AsiaOne editor, Adrian Tay, "The winners can truly be proud of their achievements as receiving the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards means that their products and services are highly regarded by a high-calibre audience who visits the AsiaOne portal."
The Top People's Choice included the Honda Jazz 1.3 (Kah Motors) for budgets cars, the POSBeveryday Card for credit cards and Prada for fashion Looks.
The other Top People's Choice winners: The Moecca superyacht for luxury living; iPhone3G and Apple for gadgets; Wii Fit (Maxsoft) for games;
California Fitness for fitness centres, Tung Lok Signatures for Chinese restaurants; Hokkaido Sushi Restaurant for Japanese restaurants; Changi Airport for Asian Airports and Singapore Institute of Management for private schools.
