The Hong Kong sex scandal star, Edison Chen, has a message to the world: I am not afraid.
Commenting on a threat made to his life yesterday, the 28-year-old said he will still come to Singapore on April 6 to promote his new movie, Sniper, reported Shin Min Daily News.
Last evening, Hong Kong television station Cable TV received an anonymous letter packaged together with a gold bullet. The letter warned Edison to stay away from all promotional activities from April 4 if he valued his life.
This is the second time that Edison has received a threat on his life.
Last year, when the sex photos of Edison and several female stars came out into the open, the Hong Kong triads allegedly offered a $110,000 (HK$500,000) reward for Edison's right hand.
Although Edison remains unfazed by the threats, Sniper's distributor, Media Asia Distribution, is taking a more careful approach.
A spokesperson from the movie company said it wanted to seek the advice of both the Hong Kong and Singapore Police Forces before deciding if Edison should proceed with the promotional activities.
Answering queries on their feelings towards Edison's safety, the spokesperson said: "Edison did make a mistake (about the photos), but he does not deserve death."
