NEW YORK - The sculptor brother of actress Mia Farrow has been found dead in his art gallery in the northeastern US state of Vermont, and police are treating the death as suspicious, local media said Wednesday.

Vermont police lieutenant Timothy Oliver described the death of 66-year-old Patrick Farrow as suspicious in a written statement on Tuesday, but did not elaborate, according to the Burlington Free Press newspaper.

An autopsy is planned to determine the cause.

Officers were called by an unidentified woman to the scene at Farrow's gallery late Monday in Castleton, near the New York state border.

UNICEF goodwill ambassador Mia Farrow, 64, has been an outspoken activist for many years, embarking most recently on a 12-day hunger strike to draw attention to the humanitarian crisis in Sudan's embattled Darfur region.
