Malaysians remember Angel and King of Pop

PETALING JAYA, Malaysia - Malaysian fans remembered the late King of Pop Michael Jackson and former Charlie's Angel Farrah Fawcett by sending tributes to their icons to The Star Online.

Michael Jackson was remembered as a gifted and inspiring performer.

"He was so inspiring and whatever the media said or labelled him as, for me he will always be the King of Pop," wrote Valens.

Valens confessed he had stolen money from his parents to buy Jackson's tapes and even had his hair done like the superstar.

According to Bryan Wong, both he and his father grew up listening to the idol.

"He was an extremely talented artiste and that's what the world lacks nowadays."

"Michael Joseph Jackson you thrilled us in Thriller, you showed us the Man In The Mirror. You gave us hope in We are the World and showed us how to Heal the World. All of us thank you for the direction, wisdom and also humility. May God bless you and protect your beautiful children. We will sorely miss you," wrote Sudersh.

"Michael's rendition of Ben will forever be etched in my memory. His voice was so clear, pure and captivating," said Chris, who hailed Thriller as the best album ever.

Chris also loved Fawcett's wholesome image and admired her ability to transcend her "bombshell" image.

Francis Yip grew up watching both stars in their heyday and followed their struggles in life.

"One set the trend in women's hairstyle. The other ruled the world with his music and songs."

He remembered collecting Charlie's Angels posters. Farrah was one of his favourites because "her smile was so sweet and mesmerising".

Yip added that he preferred to put aside Jackson's personal life and look at him as a brilliant entertainer, singer, dancer and composer.
