SHAH ALAM, MALAYSIA - The marriage between Malaysian king of pop Jamal Abdillah and his third wife came to an end yesterday after the lower Syariah Court declared his talak (divorce utterance) as valid.

Judge Atras Mohamed Zin delivered his judgment in the presence of Jamal, whose real name is Jamal Ubaidillah Ali, and Fatimatu Zahra Samad.

Fatimatu Zahra filed an application on April 30 this year to certify the talak made by Jamal two years ago.

She alleged the talak was made at 8pm on May 15, 2007 when they were travelling in a car, while Jamal claimed it was made at 10am.

In delivering his judgment, Atras requested Jamal to swear in the name of Allah that his statement was true, which the latter did.

Jamal, 50, and Fatimatu Zahra, 25, were married on Jan 3, 2006, in Songkhla, Thailand. They have a 2-year-old son, Ahmad Zaki Yamani.
