my paper

MY SISTER'S Keeper, starring Cameron Diaz and Alec Baldwin, is the No. 1 film in Singapore, raking in $249,238 from last Thursday to Sunday.

It is the best opening weekend in Singapore for director Nick Cassavetes (John Q, The Notebook). My Sister's Keeper is based on the best-selling book by Jodi Picoult, which is the No. 2 fiction title on the best-seller list here.

The movie, which raises questions about genetic engineering, terminal illness and the concept of family, is playing in cinemas.
