LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - STAR of popular TV series Heroes, Adrian Pasdar, has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving said Los Angeles police on Thursday.

Pasdar, 44, is married to Dixie Chicks singer Natalie Maines and has had a staring role in the science-fiction show Heroes since it launched.

According to the police, Pasdar was pulled over before dawn on Wednesday after highway patrol officers said they spotted his truck speeding on a Los Angeles freeway and swerving between lanes, reported celebrity website TMZ.

'Upon contacting Pasdar, the officers noticed an odour of alcoholic beverage emitting from... within the vehicle,' and determined the actor was under the influence of alcohol, the California Highway patrol said.

Police said that Pasdar was released early on Wednesday morning on US$15,000 (S$21,032) bail.

According to TMZ, Pasdar also refused to take a breathalyzer test.
