WAR-MOVIE junkies, listen up, because you won't want to miss this one.
The Pacific, HBO's US$200-million (S$280 million) epic mini-series, may be premiering here only on April 3, but the impatient ones can watch previews and trailers of the 10-parter online.
Based on the true stories of United States Marines involved in World War II, the drama is produced by some of Hollywood's finest, including Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg.
Now, these are the same guys who were behind the Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning series Band Of Brothers (2001), so you can be sure that this is some high-quality stuff.
The footage in the trailers - which shows the Marines in the thick of their battle against the Japanese - is unflinching and comes across as very realistic.
From what's available online, The Pacific looks like a slick, well-made production that is geared towards huge success.
Don't miss this one.
