INDIAN supermodel and former Miss Mauritius Viveka Babaji had been feeling depressed over a romantic break-up before she was found dead inside her apartment in suburban Bandra, Mumbai, on Monday, reported Makkal Osai.
Authorities had recovered her diary which had for its last entry the words: "I kill."
Police said Viveka had been fighting with her boyfriend two days before her suicide, adding that they had also seized her laptop and a polythene bag containing sleeping pills.
Her boyfriend Gautam Vora, when questioned by the police, denied that he was romantically involved with Viveka and maintained that they were just friends.
He also claimed that he had been trying to help her overcome her depression.
The 37-year-old model, who was best known for her appearance in the Kamasutra condom advertisement campaign in the 1990s, was found hanged from the ceiling fan in her apartment.
Neighbours alerted the police after failing to get a response from the model despite knocking on the door when they smelled gas emitting from her apartment.
> National Union of Plantation Workers Northern Region secretary-general I. Santha?nadass has accused the Kedah government of neglecting estate workers in the state, reported Malaysia Nanban.
He claimed that the PKR's S. Manikumar was transferred from his post at the state welfare and estate workers' bureau when he brought up the matter of workers living without basic facilities.
