Only 14, but Aisyah rocks the house down

SINGAPORE - SHE may be only 14, but Aisyah Salim has the sizzling voice and presence of someone twice her age.

The Secondary 2 student from Geylang Methodist Secondary School stole the limelight at the finale of the third Stomp MMSing Talent Awards, which was webcast live on RazorTV from Singapore Press Holdings' auditorium last night.

She gave a powerful rendition of Miley Cyrus' These Four Walls. Radio 91.3 DJ Jeremy Ratnam declared afterwards: "You are brilliant. You rock!"

For her effort, she won the top prize of $2,500 in Category B, for those aged below 15 years.

She has promised five of her best friends a dinner, but "I don't know where yet, though it'll be a good one", she said.

Amni Musfirah, 16, a School of the Arts student, won in Category A, for those aged 15 years and above. She nailed all the big notes and held the crowd in thrall with her take on Destiny Child's Stand Up For Love.
