BUDAPEST - The owners of a run-down warehouse in Budapest claimed Wednesday that a security guard allegedly conned Hollywood star Angelina Jolie by illegally leasing her the building for a film-shoot.

One of the owners told AFP that the guard allegedly pocketed 2,000 euros (S$3,620 dollars) for renting Jolie the warehouse without informing him or his partner.

"My partner called to ask if I knew about a film-shoot in our building," he said, asking not to be named.

"And he said: 'you'll never guess. It's Angelina Jolie!'."

The guard "thought we wouldn't find out about it, because we hardly ever go to the building," the owner added.

Jolie is currently directing her first film and shooting some of it in Budapest.

The as yet untitled project is a love story set in the Bosnia's 1992-95 war and Jolie has chosen to shoot some of it in Budapest following difficulties in getting permission to film in Sarajevo.

For the period of filming - which is scheduled to begin on November 10 and last two weeks - Jolie has rented a mansion in a fashionable district in Budapest where she is staying with her husband, Hollywood heartthrob Brad Pitt and four of their children.
