IF YOU want to catch a glimpse of American pop superstar Lady Gaga when she's in town this week, your best bet might just be at a yoga studio.
The 25-year-old hitmaker is a big fan of yoga and was spotted in Taipei heading to Pure Yoga for a session there last Saturday.
She was in Taipei to promote her Born This Way album. On Sunday, she travelled to Taichung, where Lady Gaga Day was celebrated.
Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) is a fan of Bikram yoga, which is a series of 26 postures done in a room that's heated to at least 40 deg C.
Gaga has famously hit Bikram yoga studios all over the world, from London to New York. She even dons outrageous outfits and full make-up at the classes, despite the heat.
In Taipei - where her presence caused traffic jams - she wore a lace outfit to class, though she did reportedly take off her spiked heels in class.
Yoga studios here are gearing up for her arrival. Ms Diane Lee, director of Bikram Yoga City Hall, said she was touching base with Universal Music, Gaga's record label, and SingTel, which is bringing the star here, in order to invite Gaga to the studio.
"I've spoken to people who have practised in the same class as Gaga," said Ms Lee. "They all say she's an amazing yoga practitioner. I would love for her to come in for a class."
Bikram yoga is known for its celebrity fans, who have included Jennifer Aniston and Sting.
Gaga will be here on Thursday to help launch new services for SingTel's AMPed, the telco's music-downloading service.
The Gaga showcase will be telecast from the middle of this month on SingTel's mio TV and on the MobileTV video-streaming service.
