KUALA LUMPUR - Hong Kong God of Songs Jacky Cheung wowed 8,000 fans in the first of a series of four sold-out shows at Putra Stadium in Bukit Jalil.
Cheung told fans attending the Malaysian leg of his Century Tour: "Thank you for all your support.
"If I ever stage a century tour, you can be sure I'll be back."
His spectacular three-hour show last night comprised over 30 easy-listening ballads and up-tempo dance medleys in Mandarin and Cantonese, including the 50-year-old singer's classic hits and songs from his latest album Private Corner as well as a romantic musical.
One of the highlights of the night included a tribute to Cheung's godmother, the late Hong Kong comedienne Lydia Shum.
Cheung ended his show in style, accompanied by a bevy of dancers while dressed in a glittery tuxedo and matching top hat.
Jacky Cheung Century Tour Malaysia is playing at Putra Stadium until Sunday.
More tickets have been added to the sold-out shows and are available via all authorised TicketCharge outlets (03-9222 8811/www.ticketcharge.com.my). Look out for the review of the concert in Star2 on Monday.
