Album review: Radio Music Society by Esperanza Spalding

This American singer and multi- instrumentalist gained mainstream recognition when she pipped Justin Bieber to the Best New Artist Grammy last year.

Her fourth album is a groovy amalgamation of layered funk, soul and smooth jazz that's deliciously contemporary.

The lass' expert ability to sound both restrained and liberated at once, on songs like Cinnamon Tree, is impressive.
