When your idols - in this case, Irish pop duo Jedward - make an impromptu trip to your country, chances are you'll pull out all the stops just to catch a glimpse of them.
And that's what Masrina did on Monday when she found out that the boisterous, flamboyant pair were coming to town.
The secondary school student sheepishly admitted to The New Paper that she skipped school for the chance to meet Jedward - which comprises 20-year-old twins John and Edward Grimes - while they were on the 91.3FM Jed Food Trail.
She found out about the event, which was organised by radio station 91.3FM and led by DJ Boy Thunder, on Sunday through the DJ's tweets.
Jedward visited Lau Pa Sat, Wee Nam Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice Restaurant and The Roti Prata House to sample local food.
Masrina, who was alone and declined to reveal her full name, age and school, said: "Initially, I wanted to go to school. But I changed my mind at the last minute because I went to the airport but didn't get to meet them and I was disappointed.
"So I decided to give school a miss because Jedward aren't here all the time.
"Some of my friends know that I skipped school, and my mum knows too. She was fine with it because she knows I don't meet them often and I don't usually skip school.
"I was worried about it... I know I'll be punished by the school if found out, but it's worth the risk."
Jedward shot to fame in the sixth season of British reality TV singing series The X Factor in 2009.
They represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest last year and this year.
The pair's spontaneous maiden sojourn to Singapore was dueto a re-arrangement in their schedule.
'Nothing to do'
Explained John: "We had like three or four days free and we couldn't just be sitting at home doing nothing, so we decided just that morning to come to Singapore."
Added Edward: "We received so many tweets from fans everywhere asking us to check out @Boythunder913 (Boy Thunder's Twitter account).
"We followed him, started direct messaging and found out that 91.3 has (our single) Young Love in the Top 10 on the Hot 30 countdown.
"So we decided to come down here for our holiday."
He confessed: "We didn't even tell our mum we were coming to Singapore."
Said John: "I think Edward and I being in Singapore is really, really cool because it's the first part of South-east Asia we've been to and we can't wait to come back here and do a concert."
Edward exclaimed: "We've heard that most people here like to go to concerts (but) don't actually get CDs. "We want all our fans to get our new CD Young Love because we like signing CDs and you'll get to meet us.
"We like meeting our fans. We don't try to get security and stuff to get us away from our fans."
The Jedward autograph session will take place at 6.30pm tomorrow at Bugis Junction, Bugis Square@Level 1, but the twins will strictly be signing only their Young Love albums.
