SINGAPORE - Popular getai veteran Han Fei has died of illness at the age of 90.
He passed away three days ago on Feb 13, reported evening daily Shin Min.
One of the top acts at now-defunct New World Amusement Park, Han Fei also performed with late popular stand-up comics, Wang Sa and Ye Fong in the 1950s and 60s.
Han Fei retired from getai business in 1999, and conducted singing classes. He also taught singing to senior citizens for free.
One of his students Guo Li Biao told Shin Min that Han Fei had frequently visited the hospital in the past two years. He had lung and kidney problems, and the last time he had also been to the hospital was a few days before he died.
Han Fei's funernal is held at Jalan Bukit Merah Blk 2A, and the procession takes place on Sunday.
