1 dead, 2 injured as crane collapses in construction site

One man was pronounced dead and two others injured as a crane collapsed at a construction site along Fort Road at 4pm on Wednesday.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force were called to the scene, where officers found that the crane, about 21 metres in height, had fallen onto a nearby seven-storey uncompleted building.

Paramedics were on the rooftop to assess the men's injuries. The two injured men suffered a suspected spinal injury and a fractured right thigh respectively. They were then evacuated using an on-site crane and crane bucket and sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

The third man who was found trapped under the boom of the crane died at the scene.
