Food was clearly the star at my paper's first Metropolitan Workshop on food styling and photography.
Held late last month, 80 photography enthusiasts pulled out all the stops at Pantry at the Stables, where they snapped away furiously, taking pictures of yummy treats like quiches and tarts, all whipped up by the posh eatery's chefs.
They picked up tips from Mr Robin Ho, group executive chef of The Marmalade Group, who spoke about food styling; and attended a presentation on coffee art by Mr Romeo Alfen, barista and key account manager at Oriole Coffee Roasters.
Mr Bob Lee, a professional photographer and former photojournalist, spoke about how to make those food pictures really sing.
The participants, who ranged from foreign-exchange dealers to a university professor, impressed with their efforts.
The photographs were so good that my paper decided to hand out prizes for the best photos.
We asked Mr Lee to select 10 winners, who received $50 shopping vouchers, just for turning in great photos.
Here are a few of our favourites.
