BRADDELL View, a 920-unit Housing and Urban Development Council estate, has sent a letter to residents asking for volunteers to help clean up the estate.
The reason? The estate is facing a shortage of cleaners. And it is not the only one. Other condominium managers are facing the same problem. They say the shortage of cleaners in private estates has worsened in the past year.
And when the slated 10 new hawker centres open over the next 10 years, the crunch will get worse. There may not be enough cleaners to go around, cleaning companies say.
So what's the solution? Cleaning companies say the simplest solution is for everyone to clean up after themselves.
