SINGAPORE - In A statement issued yesterday, Singapore's Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth clarified that an AFP report with the headline "S. Korea activists to put 'comfort woman' statues in Asia" on Jan 23 is inaccurate.

The report suggested that the Korean Council for the Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery has already held talks with the Singapore authorities and is finalising plans to erect a statue in Singapore.

The ministry said there are no ongoing discussions between the Government and the council on this issue, nor will such a statue be erected in Singapore.
